I’M george ayers
After attending college as a music performance major (trumpet) and having careers in drafting, civil engineering design, aviation and yachting, I’m now well into my current adventure as a fine artist focusing on oil painting and realism.
“I’ve always been a bit of a renaissance man with several wildly different careers and a variety of hobbies and interests. I’ve lived aboard sailboats and flown single engine aircraft and enjoy riding motorcycles, tennis and spend hours contemplating philosophy and physics and trying to understand the universe. Really I just want to understand as much as I can and live as much as I can while I can”
artist bio
George Ayers is a contemporary realist oil painter whose work merges classical technique with a distinctly modern sensibility. His still lifes, portraits, and imaginative realist pieces draw on the precision and discipline of traditional realism while also embracing modern themes and unexpected elements that give the work immediacy and edge.
His paintings have been exhibited nationally and internationally, including at the LA Art Show and Arcadia Contemporary in New York, and he is represented by Robert Lange Studios in Charleston. Collectors are drawn to his ability to balance refinement and technical mastery with a willingness to explore the present moment and push realism beyond convention.
George currently works out of his studio in Athens, Georgia, where he also teaches private mentorships and produces courses on advanced oil painting techniques.
